Robert Joseph Quick’s 5-year-old daughter was bitten, but she survivedand is recovering from the attack.

The Marshalltown, Iowa, family of Christian Maxon, 8, is mourning the bright-eyed boy, who loved Cub Scouts, video games and fishing.

The zoonotic disease, known as “canine Brucellosis,” is spread through reproductive fluids. Instances were found at a small-dog breeding facility.

The rescue was caught on camera.
