BYU and Navy met on Labor Day in the most-anticipated matchup of college football’s opening weekend. Unfortunately, the game didn’t match the hype.

LSU has had four projected starters opt out before the season. Tigers coach Ed Orgeron said there are others that could still step away.

This year’s college football postseason will have a new look. The preseason bowl projections reflect the uncertainty about the season and the playoff.

There won’t be much drama when the College Football Playoff pairings are released. It’s all set for LSU, Ohio State Clemson and Oklahoma.

Ohio State continued is hold on the No. 1 spot in the College Football Playoff ahead of LSU. Utah leads Oklahoma for the critical No. 5 position.

Barry Odom is out after compiling 25-25 record in four seasons as Missouri coach. The Tigers started 5-1 this season before five consecutive losses.

The fourth College Football Playoff rankings were released Tuesday with Ohio State passing LSU for No. 1 spot. Clemson, Georgia and Alabama completed the top five.

The College Football Playoff field remains the same this week with Oregon still holding the No. 4 spot behind LSU, Ohio State and Clemson.
