Travelers are allowed to get a free refund on most airline tickets if they cancel within 24 hours of booking.

Southwest Airline’s semi-annual three-day fare sale features one-way fares of $49, $79, $99 and $129 for travel before and after the holidays.

Southwest, which began serving Hawaii earlier this year, will add new Sacramento-Maui flights and is boosting frequency of flights from other cities.

The Hawaii-based carrier is calling the new, cheaper fares “Main Cabin Basic.” Passengers don’t get to select a seat until check in.

AAA says the best time to start shopping for holiday flights is Sept. 25. You should book before Halloween.
